LENTThis year, the season of Lent, a period of forty days leading up to the Great Three Days before Easter Sunday, begins with an early Ash Wednesday on February 17th. We will observe Ash Wednesday and an opportunity to be marked with a cross of ashes on our foreheads at an evening service at 7:00 that day. During the five full weeks of Lent, a Wednesday evening service with communion will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Those dates are February 24th, March 3, 10, 17, and 24. As has been the custom of past years, the preacher and presider for each Wednesday will be a Lutheran pastor from one of our nearby churches. Each service on Wednesday will be preceded by a Bread and Broth supper - an opportunity to share conversation and nourishment together. Look for a sign-up sheet for providing soup, and plan to join us on Wednesdays! |
